1 small organic pear
1 small organic mango
1 organic lemon
1/2 c sheep yogurt
1/4″ cup raw sprouted buckwheat groats
cinnamon
Cut fruit into bite size pieces and cover with fresh lemon juice, stir. Layer the yogurt first in parfait cup, then the groats, then the fruit mix. Chill, then enjoy.

Chakra Salad

2 organic beets
3 organic green onions
3-4 stalks of organic celery
2-3 cloves of organic garlic
1 tbls Barleans Flax Oil
1/4 c of organic Veganaise
Celtic Sea Salt
Ground Pepper
Wash vegetables and chop in whatever way pleases you. I used my food processor to slice the beets, and I used a flax seed grinder to chop the garlic. Add spices and Veganaise, then mix. Observe the fuschia color and take note that this salad promotes the 1st and 7th chakras.
1st Chakra – Red: Earth Element
Location: Base of the spine
Emotionally: Red is associated with courage, physical and emotional survival, grounding and security. Red is thought to help with depression, anger, frustration and anxiety.
Physically: Red is associated with the kidneys, spinal column, legs, hips, adrenal system and feet. It is also thought to help blood and circulation issues.
7th Chakra – Violet: Thought Element
Location: Top of the head
Emotionally: Violet is associated with emotions, self-knowledge, over intellectualizing and meditation.
Physically: Violet is physically associated with top of the spinal cord, brain stem and pineal gland, and is used to relax muscles, calm the nervous system and sooth organs. Violet is also used for treating the lymphatic system and spleen.

Why Organic?
Top 3 Reasons to go Organic…
1. Pesticides, Herbicides and Fungicides are know to be carcinogenic. Eating Organic foods reduces your exposure to these harmful toxins.
2. Organic Farming is Natural. Organic farms are more conscious of how the land is being treated.
3. Reduce the risk to Farm Workers. Non-organic farmers are exposed to potentially dangerous chemicals.
Here is one of my favorite recipes. Sunday is going to be officially Recipe Sunday. I am just catching you up still. Tomorrow will be a new recipe.

The morning is my best time. I have the most energy at this time. Today I tried a new product. I am always trying new things. That is what is fun about becoming a vegetarian. By the way, becoming a vegetarian is not something you do over night. It is a process of discovery. It requires dedication and research if you want to be successful and have a long healthy life.
The product I introduced today is a powered “Bee” complex with Ginseng and Herbs called Royal Rush. That’s right, a Bee…. Bees produce a highly concentrated source of nutrition called royal jelly, pollen, and propolis. All of these bee products are derived from the hive before they are made into honey. Honey is last in the cycle.
I mixed the Royal Rush with Field of Greensand orange juice for a morning energy drink. It was great.
Some vegetarians do not use bee products. I have not researched the reasons why yet. So far I am grateful for bees and bee keepers. Here is a shot of a “Rooftop Bee Keeper” at the Farmers Market at Union Square in NYC. He sells other stuff also, but is known for the NYC Roof Top Honey.

I really wanted to catch you up on the past 4 months but I could not help today by starting you out with my morning routine. The first thing that I do after about 30 minutes worth of yoga practice is drink a very large glass of warm water with fresh organic lemon juice. This is absolutely the best way to hydrate and get your digestion moving first thing in the morning.

The next thing that I do is take supplements. Whole Foods Market has the most comprehensive and best selection of supplements I have ever experienced. I take krill oil, gingko biloba, siberian ginseng, wild blue green algae, chlorella, spirulina, marine greens, bee pollen, propolis, royal jelly and powdered greens. All of these superfoods have made a huge difference in my energy level, especially while experimenting with my diet. I was confident that I was getting the nutrition that I needed.

Then I drink Field of Greens, a powdered greens mixed with orange juice or carrot juice. I use bottled juices for this. I go through quite a bit. The best brand for bottled juices is Lakewood Juices, no doubt. I have done the homework friends.
More to come.

During the summer of 2008 I was in Barnes & Noble looking for a book by Wayne Dyer on the Tao Te Ching. They didn’t have the book. Instead another book caught my eye called “Your Are What You Eat”. The book literally just fell off the shelf into my hands with its bright green cover and raw content. This book changed my life dramatically. I wasn’t even looking for a lifestyle change or even a diet to lose weight. It is now October 28, 2008, my 44th birthday and I am writing this blog. I have lost 20 lbs since June through subtle changes in my diet. I am currently around 80% raw and 95% organic. I eliminated fried foods, frozen foods, processed foods all at once at the front end. Then I gradually eliminated wheat, dairy, and flesh. After that I started to eliminate cooked foods. I started to use food as an experiment. I started supplementing with superfoods and drinking fresh vegetable juices. I have added some cooked foods back into my diet along with sheep yogurt and a little goat cheese. I stopped eating out in restaurants. That alone will shift your consciousness. I prepare all of my own food. I have come to realize that this is an act of love. More to come.

Here is Gillian McKeith’s Website.
